Biography
Alberto “Tico” Gutierrez began his financial services career in 1997 at Guardian and LINQ Financial Group as an agent under Luis Hernandez. Tico has expanded his role with LINQ and is now the District Manager. He has held the role of Disability Income Specialist for the agency is currently a Special Care Planner and Certified Family Business Specialist (CFSB).
Some activities Tico is part of in our community include being director of Wicho’s on the Green, a Board Member of the Miami Chapter of Autism Speaks, he has been a walk organizer of the National MS Society, Homeroom Dad as well as golf tournament organizer at St. Thomas the Apostle. He continues to be an active member of Northeastern University Alumni Association, and he is also a Golden Panther Booster at FIU. Tico is part of the Board of Directors and unofficial Event Producer for the Switchboard of Miami, an organization that handles local crisis hotlines. In 2010 he was named as the Mass Mutual Volunteer of the Year and was given a $25,000 donation for Switchboard of Miami for his efforts.
Tico was born on February 17th in Hoboken, New Jersey. Tico and his family moved to Miami in his early toddler years, early enough to have always considered Miami his home. Tico attended Belen Jesuit Prep and in the early nineties he moved back north to attend Northeastern University where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. In 1998, Tico married Lilia Salazar in Ciudad Obregon Sonora, Mexico. They have two children, Natalia, 11 years old, and Luis Alberto who is 8 years old. Alberto’s favorite sports include football and baseball and he has volunteered as a coach in both sports for the Boys and Girls Club.
